New Board Member

David Goldsholl has been appointed as the new Dues Management Secretary, reporting to the President, effective November 1st. David will handle dues issues and requests for abatements going forward. Soul Food Series

The first menu selection for this year's Soul Food series was a digital photo workshop presented by Rob Hyner. The workshop was fun and informative. Sorry you missed it.

*new Menu Item number 2, ""Israel Through Our Eyes" will follow Kabbalat Shabbat on November 14th.

Our third menu selection, "Ethical Wills" will take place on November 16 from *new
10:30 to 12:00
, and will be led by Rabbi Herman.

Sukkah Update

Thanks to the crew which dismantled our "old Sukkah" and took down the new one for storage last weekend. The group included: Mark Lescher, Phil Lerner, Dale Schwartz, and Alan Rocklin.  In addition, we want to belatedly thank Bob Gross for his help in building the new Sukkah.

Clothing Drive

The 7th grade will again be coordinating our Winter Clothing Drive this year. All winter clothes, outer wear and indoor wear, for adults and children are needed. Please bring any items you can spare to the synagogue between December 7 and 21.

Fighting Poverty and Expanding Opportunity in Hartford

You are invited to attend this community-wide event on Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 1:30 – 4:00 PM at Congregation Tikvoh Chadoshoh, 180 Still Road in Bloomfield, CT.

Scheduled panelists include Elizabeth Brown, CT Commission on Children, Miriam Morales Taylor, former principal of Bulkeley High School and currently an assistant Hartford school superintendent and Oz Griebel, president of the Metro Hartford Alliance.
