FVJC-Emek Shalom, the light of the Jewish community in the Farmington ValleyNews from Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation-Emek Shalom

Happy Hanukkah from the Board of Directors of FVJC-Emek Shalom:

Snow Menorah

Thanks to Richard, Stephanie, Sadie, Petra and Gavin Leite for sharing their snow menorah!

Christmas Day Volunteering

Every year, our congregation volunteers at the Salvation Army and Hebrew Home in place of those who celebrate Christmas. At the Salvation Army, you can show up that morning and choose the size and location of your Meals on Wheels route. They are located on Woodland Street, across from St. Francis Hospital.

If you would like to volunteer at the Hebrew Home, please contact Ruth Ann Wein to sign up in advance. Ruth Ann has the following needs for Xmas Day Volunteers:

* From: 7:30AM to 6:00PM
* minimum 2 hour shifts
*Work could include the kitchen, working in the units, and other assignments

Those interested should call Ruth Ann at 523-3818.

Family Fun Day Cancelled

Unfortunately, this event has been cancelled. We hope to offer it next year.

Chanukkah Hop

Please come celebrate Chanukkah with a family-friendly service, live music, and holiday treats. The service begins at 6 PM. Bring your menorah and candles so we can all light our Hanukkiah together.

Don't forget to check our calendar for other upcoming events.
