It's Sisterhood Book Night Tonight!

Our Sisterhood book group is scheduled to meet at 7:30 on Thursday, December 17th at the home of Robin Shapiro in Avon (173 Winding Lane).  We will be discussing the book The Invisible Wall by Harry Bernstein.  Please RSVP to Robin if you plan to attend at (860) 673-1148 or robinjshapiro@comcast.net.  As always, you are welcome to join us even if you have not read the book but would like to learn more about the group.  Our discussions are informal and stimulating.  We hope to see you there!

Social Action

Thank you for your generous donations to the Marine Corps Reserve's "Toys for Tots" program. The toys were delivered on Tuesday, much to the delight of the program sponsors who informed me that donations are down this year.

In January, the Social Action Committee, along with the religious school, is sponsoring a “Soup’s On!” canned or boxed, kosher soup drive benefiting JFS. Soups must be kosher or they cannot be accepted. To assist you in your shopping, click here for a list of kosher soups. Whether you shop at Target or Trader Joe's, Stop-n-Shop or Shaw's, there are kosher soups for sale at all stores. Please note that NO Campbell's or Progresso soups are kosher. Please look for the beautifully decorated collection containers and posters made by the 5th and 4th graders, respectively, under the direction of our talented art teacher, Chrissy Bonchick.

This Chanukah Gift Never Stops Giving

If you can't think of what to give for Chanukah, how about giving something totally different this year?  How about giving something that will last a lifetime?  How about a gift that will never be forgotton?  How about a gift that will become a life-altering experience?  This year, how about giving the gift, of a Trip To Israel!

The FVJC-ES will once again, this summer, be traveling to Israel for two weeks.  Each and every person, no matter what age, who has been to Israel with our Temple Trip has found it to be the "trip of a lifetime."  This tour, personally escorted by Rabbi Herman, will give you the opportunity to experience Israel from all of it's vistas. This is the trip for your family.  If you travel nowhere else this year, travel to Israel with us this summer.

Interested??  Make a "no obligation" call to Rabbi Herman 860-651-8576 and make this year's Chanukah celebration last a lifetime.
