Sisterhood Helps You Get Ready for Hanukkah

This year Sisterhood will be providing boxes of Hanukkah candles to our temple families.  Candles will be sent home with the oldest child in each family on Sunday, December 6th. Temple members who do not have children in Religious School are welcome to stop by the office to pick up a box of candles. We are requesting that each family take only one box of candles.  Happy Hanukkah to all our temple members from Sisterhood!

Sisterhood Hanukkah Sale - Sunday, December 6th from 9:00 to 12:00

The Sisterhood will be holding a Hanukkah Sale on Sunday, December 6th from 9:00 to noon.  A variety of merchandise will be available including candles, cards, menorahs, decorative bowls and table runners.  All merchandise in our display cases will also be for sale and many items will be marked 25% off.  Your support of Sisterhood helps us to fund various projects within our Religious School.  We thank you for your support!

Kaddish, Kiddush & Kashes

Join us this Saturday, December 4, at 9:00 a.m. for our monthly lay Shabbat Morning Worship service.  Come share an intimate experience of prayer and discussion in a casual setting in the Multi-purpose room.  This month, our prayer service will be led by Joel Mandell, and our discussion topic is "Why We Pray".  B'nai Mitzvah students who attend with a family member will earn a Shabbat Service credit.

Toys for Tots Collection

Do you have plans to go shopping on Black Friday?  If so, please keep in mind that FVJC-ES will be collecting toys on behalf of the US Marine Corp's successful "Toys for Tots" program.  Boxes will be placed in the synagogue in December.  Toys must be new and in their original packaging (i.e., unopened).  Every year, there is a shortage for infant toys and toys for kids 12 and older, but toys for kids of all ages are accepted and appreciated.

If you are attending the Hanukkah Hop on Friday, December 11, your donation will be your "price of admission."  If you will not be at the Hanukkah Hop, please drop off your donation any time in early December.  Boxes will be removed for distribution to children in need in the day or two following the Hanukkah Hop.  On behalf of the Social Action Committee, thank you for your generous support!
