FVJC-ES youth programs are fun and exciting!

Seventh Grade

Our seventh graders mentor younger students through our Buddy Program, gaining leadership experience and skills by working with children one-on-one, in a sanctuary setting and during special events.

FUSION

FVJC Fusion is our new temple youth group, prior to MC Teens, for kids in grades 4-7. This is an exciting new opportunity for our kids to socialize with their Jewish friends outside of the Hebrew classrooms. Our FUSION kids may be meeting in the teen social lounge and also outside the synagogue. There will be signups in advance and parent and MC Teens participation. All associated fees will be determined prior to the events.

Grades Eight-Ten

FVJC-ES has a very popular post B’nai Mitzvah program called Midrashei Chayim, or ‘MC’ meaning lifelong learning. The program offers our 8-10th grade students a way to remain connected to their friends from Religious School, as well as our Temple.

Confirmation

10th graders are invited to participate in our Confirmation program which involves Torah, Avodah and G’milut Chasadim. Confirmants study with our Rabbi and Cantor monthly and create an innovative and meaningful Confirmation ceremony. More...

Junior Choir

Junior Choir is open to students of all ages. The choir performs at services, Religious School events, and participates in our Temple-wide Purim Spiel!

Student Council

Students in third grade and up participate in our Religious School Student Council, which meets once a month during the school year. Student representatives create and run fundraising events, social activities, and  come up with innovative ways to improve our school.

Madrechim

Our Madrechim program allows teens in grades 9-12 to gain leadership experience and skills working with children one-on-one, in a classroom setting, and with special school projects as an aid in the Religious School. Teens make a commitment for the year and are matched up with a particular class to assist the teacher in class projects and day-to-day activities.
