Adult Education
Jewish Learning does not end with a Bar or Bat Mitzvah at 13! FVJC offers are variety of ongoing educational workshops, and continuing education programs. These programs are open to all adults in our community.
Workshops
Each year, our Education Committee prepares a calendar of informative educational workshops.
Please check here or on the FVJC Calendar for more details and new programs, or contact Marilyn Ettman, Education Committee Chair, for more information.
Adult B'Nai Mitzvah
Do you regret not becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah as a teenager? FVJC has a two-year Adult B'nai Mitzvah program, which has provided hundreds of adults the opportunity to:
- learn Hebrew
- learn the rituals of Bar/Bat Mitzvah
- form lasting relationships with fellow classmates
Lifecycle Judaism
Rabbi Herman conducts weekly classes at the Chai Center in Avon on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. Classes will begin October 1.
The next class will integrate Mishna, Talmud and Midrash to help give us insight into how and why we Jews do what we do, and how these ideas have shaped the attitudes, actions, and convictions of Jews and Judaism today.
All classes are open to the public. If you have any questions, please contact Edie Offenhartz at 693-0155.
