The Farmington Valley Sisterhood is a unique mix of women of all ages and backgrounds. Since many of our lives are busy with multiple commitments, our goal is to provide our unique services to the congregation, have some fun, meet new friends and strengthen our support network.

Our membership is a diverse group of women who are carrying on the tradition of Sisterhood by serving the temple and running the Judaica Shop. Our Sisterhood Book Club meets monthly to discuss books of varying genres and themes.

The 2008-2009 Executive Committee includes:

  • Judi Cohen - Executive Board Attendee
  • Randi Chin - Treasurer
  • Penney Borovsky - Communications
  • Robin Schwartz -  Membership
  • Jodi Marks – Judaica Store

Planned events for the Fall:

Welcome Back Breakfast - September 14 during Religious School

Book Club - Tuesday, September 16th at 7:30 at the home of Ellen Mandell (7 Harriet Lane, Simsbury) to discuss the book The Plot Against America by Philip Roth.  This book deals with the question:  What if Charles Lindbergh defeated FDR in the 1940 election?  This should be a fascinating book to discuss during an election year.  Please RSVP to Ellen by Sunday, September 14th at 658-2185 or ellenmandell@comcast.net.

For any general questions or to suggest future books titles, please contact Judi Cohen at 658-1820 or jcreads@hotmail.com.

Welcome Back evening celebration - Wednesday, September 24th at 7:30 PM  Barbara Fichtenholtz's home. Stay tuned for more details.
