Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation-Emek Shalom Music Shabbat Series

Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation-Emek Shalom Music Shabbat Series

FVJC-Emek Shalom is known throughout the area for our talented and varied musical program. This year's Music Shabbat Series will be equally impressive. Two events are coming up soon:

Our first event takes place on Thursday, October 4 as we celebrate Simchat Torah and the Consecration of our new Religious School students. Come dance with the Torah to the music of our Klezmer Band. The service begins at 6:30 p.m.

The first Jewish Music Shabbat of the new year will take place on Friday, October 19th. The Connecticut Z’mirah Chorale, under the direction of Kevin Mack, will join Cantor Susan Levine. Together, they will enhance our worship, and will teach us about the long and rich Jewish choral tradition with samples of Jewish liturgical music through the ages. The Z’mirah Chorale, currently in its 2nd year, attracts dedicated and enthusiastic singers from around the state. They perform at civic events and at a number of Connecticut synagogues.
