Daryl Worborow and the FVJC-Emek Shalom Board of Directors annouced this week that there are two vacancies on the temple board. All FVJC-Emek Shalom members in good standing are encouraged to apply.
Outreach Committee Chair. This position will help organize programs for the approximately one-third of our congregation whose members are intermarried, and reach other interfaith couples in the community. The Union for Reform Judiasm has a number of programs which can help make this position very effective. Prior board experience is not a factor, only the desire to enhance the experience of intermarried couples.
Programming Committee Chair. This is a new position, whose functions were formerly under the Fundrasing committee. Responsibilities include developing activities, such as a "Progressive Dinner", bowling parties, Sunday afternoon movies, or other events that cultivate fellowship among our members. The only criteria here is the ability to engage others to help plan and execute these events!
